Autostrada A1: coming from Florence, proceed towards Bologna and exit at Barberino del
Mugello, then follow the signs for Scarperia and the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello traveling on SS503 toward Firenzuola. Once you have arrived at Passo del Giogo at 883 meters proceed for about 500 meters and as soon as you see a casa colonica, turn right and after about 200 meters of unpaved road, you are here.
On secondary roads from Florence: follow the signs for Scarperia in the direction of Borgo San Lorenzo taking state road 503 (Via Bolognese). By bus: from the Florence SITA bus station, located near the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. You can also take the Via Faentina Train as far as San Piero a Sieve (in the direction of Borgo San Lorenzo or Faenza). Get off at the SPS Station and take the Sita Bus for Firenzuola. On state road SS503 at a few meters from the detour that leads to Casa al Giogo there is a SITA bus stop. Il Rifugio is located about 200 meters from state road SS503 on an unpaved road on the right.
